Pamlico Sounds Encore Performance Series!

Our Spring 2007 shows were all return visits. The three acts were the most requested to return, as of March 2006. A lot of you missed them the first time, and most that saw them want to see them again. All of the acts are very different from each other - and all are extreme crowd pleasers. To visit the artist's Web Sites, please click on the pictures below.

We do not currently have any shows scheduled. We hope to start offering shows again in the later half of 2008.  Stay tuned for future details!

George Winston - March 25 -Sold Out-
   and March 26 -  7:30PM
George Winston awed the audience his last visit to Oriental. He plays over 100 solo piano concerts a year in America and beyond, inspired by the seasons. These concerts feature a variety of styles, including his melodic folk piano, stride piano, New Orleans R&B piano, Vince Guaraldi’s Peanuts pieces and more. The two solo piano shows that he plays, always in a state of evolution, are the Summer Show (spring & summer songs) and the Winter Show (fall & winter songs). George has seven multi-platinum, platinum and gold records and his latest CD, GULF COAST BLUES AND IMPRESSIONS – A HURRICANE RELIEF BENEFIT was released last September. Please note that these shows are Sunday and Monday, so plan ahead to take a day off if needed.

California Guitar Trio - April 27 & 28 - Sold Out
8:00PM
Three acoustic classical guitars - three guys from all over the world - and a show you will never forget! Their last visit to town was on the day of their 15th anniversary as CGT (February 7, 2006.) The Trio's music ranges from Bach and Beethoven to Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody" - songs by the surf band the Ventures, and many unique songs of their own. Being a band no one knew what to expect, during their last visit, the outcome was total awe and amazement. This is honestly a show that has to be seen and heard to understand the impact they make on their audience.

Loudon Wainwright III - May 18 & 19
8:00PM
Loudon is most famous for his Dead Skunk song. But this is far from who he is. Some of his songs will make you laugh until you cry - while others will make you cry until you just have to laugh. A master of the guitar - and one of the most entertaining one man shows ever. He has 27 albums since 1970, two of them are Grammy Nominees. He has appeared in several top films, as well as many TV shows over the years. Song wise, everyone has their own favorites - such as: "White Winos," "Bein' a Dad," "iwiwal," or "Five Years Old" - as his one song is titled - there are just "So Many Songs." This is your chance to see Loudon again, or catch him if you missed him the first time. Photo by Lisa Schaffer.
